On-site twitter-workshop by Blogwerk

Twitter had its breakthrough in 2009, a year in which it hosted some spectacular public events. The network has gained more and more private users, but also a lot of companies use twitter to publish news and stay in contact with each other. Nonetheless, twitter is not as easy to handle as other social networks, for example facebook. The 140-character limit for the messages has created a specific “twitter language“. Functions that need explaining and cryptic abbreviations make the first contact with this network more difficult than other social media.
This is the reason why Blogwerk AG offers free twitter-workshops for visitors at its exhibition booth at Swiss Online Marketing. During the 15-minute introduction, they create the visitors twitter account and explain basic terms as «@-Reply» (public communication with other twitter members), «RT» (for «Retweet», citation of twitter news) or «#hashtags » (the use of catchwords).

The objective is to allow the participants to understand the basic rules of twitter, so they can use it directly at the fair (and after) for a productive visit.

Keynote-Speaker: Sacha Wigdorovits

As co-founder of the free newspapers «20 Minuten» and «.ch», Sacha Wigdorovits has left his footprints in the Swiss media landscape. After working as a free journalist for more than twenty years, among others as US-correspondent for the SonntagsZeitung and as chief editor at Blick, in 1998 the PR and Media-Expert from Zurich founded the Contract Media AG, an agency for holistic communication, whose managing director he has been ever since. At Swiss Online Marketing, the Harvard Business School graduate will speak about “Communication and Marketing in the times of Social Networks”.
